3 months
Luna was turned 3 months on Wednesday! It has gone really fast. I don't even think I left my house for 3 months with Kai. Luna already has her second cold and rolled over today while playing with her soft blocks. She is also grabbing stuff with two hands now. Her favorite toy is her sunflower rattle. Kai also recently turned 3 and we are looking into a part time preschool for September... I can't believe how big he is already! I've been really hesitant about sending him to preschool, but I guess it's time. He's really craving playdates and enjoys the company of other kids and his sister isn't quite big enough to play with yet =]. He is already writing all his letters and numbers and starting to read, so I definitely need to find him a school that is more fun than academic to develop his social skills rather than being bored with things he already knows. Enjoy the newest photo of my cute pumpkins!

Snow and Stuff
Today we're just waiting around for the snow to start.. sitting by the fire, watching cartoons. I was having an emotional mommy moment last night when we watched Up. I can't watch the beginning of that movie without getting teary... the two falling in love and growing old together... getting caught up in life... losing a child... regaining perspective on life just in time for the wife to get sick... I love when I read a book or see something that reminds me of how important family and people in general are to me. Even a silly movie reminding me to enjoy each moment is a blessing. So today I'm off to enjoy a snowy day with my family my wonderful husband, my amazing son, and my beautiful new daughter.

Luna Isabella is here ...
... and is almost 3 months old already!! Born on the awesome date of 11/10/09, Luna decided to make a super fast appearance at 3:39 in the morning. I had been having irregular contractions all day, so we went down to Columbia thinking we wanted to be close to the hospital. Around 5 pm I ran over to the doctor's office to get checked and was 3 cm 70% effaced... they should have told me to hang around but instead said it could be today or tomorrow or whenever, so we went home. Around 11pm the contractions got regular and we left at 1am. I think we made it to the hospital around 2 am and the anesthesiologist was with a c-section patient, so that's the story of my all natural, unmedicated birth =]. It was horrible and i made pouty face at the doctor between each contraction, but she was out with only 11 minutes of pushing and now i wouldn't have had it any other way. My 4.5 hour labor was totally unexpected considering with Kai I was in Labor for like 36 hours or something rediculous. This pregnancy had been way more difficult than with Kai, so I knew Luna was bound to make for na interesting delivery! I had a super fast birth and a super fast recovery, probably because I was no where near as exhausted as last time, although let me tell you, walking the mall for 2 hrs beforehand was probably not the best idea I ever had. After I slept a little I felt great though and Luna is such a wonderful baby. She is shy like me and if you sit quitely with her she makes these little coo noises hahaha.... so cute! She usually has on her serious thinking face, but it's still beautiful. She has now giggled 3 times, twice with kai and once when she laughed at the man who came to fix a few things in our house. The new house is great and perfect for us and the kids. Kai has lots of room to run and play and we now have a nice big king bed to fit us all in. Kai is doing great with Luna. He loves her so much and thinks she's really cute... sometimes he hugs and kisses a little too much, but I feel blessed to have such a loving family. Anyway, here's a collage of my peanut from birth until now. Hopefully I will keep up a bit better in the coming months!

Anyway, time for this baby to come already.. I think i'm starting to waddle EEK! Here's my latest belly... seems a lot smaller than my Kai belly.

Did I Get Bonked On The Head?
No... it's just pregnancy brain. I've been sitting here for about 10 min trying to remember what we did this morning and nothing is coming to me. I remember eating a waffle...and then... nothing. I might have to start blogging twice a day HAHAHA. Well at least I am amused by myself I guess. Oh I do also remember playing "flick the spider" with Kai. He prings me his two little spiders that he won at Chuck E. Cheese the other day and I say "eww gross!" with a scrunched up face and fling them across the room and he cracks up. After nap time we ordered a pizza from Domino's since daddy is working late and the two of us ate the majority of our large thin crust. When we finished pigging out our neighbor came over and the boys "played," which mostly involved Kai grabbing whatever Logan wanted to play with or pushing him away. I really hope this stage doesn't last too long because he'd be having way more fun if he wasn't sitting in time out all the time. Tomorrow I think we will be heading down to the DC area with a possible visit to my brother. I guess we'll just see how it goes and maybe try to do something that's fun for Kai. I'm off to check on the shrimp that appeared to be wedged between 2 rocks about an hour ago. Hopefully she was just having a snooze!
PlayGroups Or PlayGround
On both tuesday and thursday Kai and I went to playgroups. Tuesdays is the 3 year old group. I actually really like everyone who's been there... I'm not sure they like us, but they have been very nice and welcoming. Kai has been on a bit of a crazy streak. If another kid walks over to him, he for some reason expects that they are going to take away whatever he is playing with, so instead of waiting to see what will happen, he preemptivvely pushes them. It's really making him out to look like a bully when I know he's not. Hopefully this overcompensation for being bullied himself in the past will crank back the other way again when he realizes the kids in the group are nice. So far the kids around here all seem really well behaved... there've been a few exceptions, but I'm pretty amazed. The 24-36 mongh playgroup yesterday was ok. It was kind of awkward at the beginning cause the other moms knew each other and kind of talked to each other, but once more people got there it was a little better. I also had to keep moving all around to continually discipline Kai so that didn't really help the friend making. I probably wouldn't go to that one again. We are hosting the 3 year old group at our house next week and people actually signed up to come so hopefully that will go well. I'm not sure about this whole playgroup thing in general though... I'll give it a chance, but I think maybe I'll be better at meeting people at playgrounds... it ends up being more 1 on 1 which I like. I'm pretty easy to get along with so hopefully we will have some friends soon. We love hanging out with Meredith and her kids but she works part time so we can't hang out as much as we'd like. We also like Melissa and Bennett, who are coming this weekend yay! But they also both work, so it's hard to meet more than once a month. Oh well I guess we'll see how the spring goes =). Last night we went to Chuck E. Cheese...Kai loves that place. We went to the one in Laurel which I liked better than the last one we went to. It was well lit and more open and not nearly as hot inside. Kai got 2 plastic spiders with the tickets he and daddy won. This morning my dollar store test was really dark yay!
